Preeti’s parents work as day laborers and she has an elder sister who is married. As someone who holds her family very dear, she ponders, “My family is everything to me. My father is my inspiration, my mother gives me comfort in times of stress, and my sister is my best friend. When I was born, my parents did not even have their own house to live in.”
Despite my family's financial struggles, I completed a B.Sc degree from KLE Society’s RL Science Institute, Belagavi. During under graduation, I took up a part-time job as an anchor for a local news channel in Belagavi, which helped me pay my college fees.”
Preeti was introduced to Deshpande Skilling by one of her friends. She shares, “After insistence from my mother, I joined the Deshpande Susandhi Fellowship program in September 2021. I learned English communication, computer skills, reasoning and aptitude, and life skills. The trainers and program managers were very supportive, dedicated and continuously inspired all the students.” She excitedly continues, “I enjoyed being part of the program because every Fellow was given an equal opportunity. The campus was filled with positive vibes. In my three-month journey, I made quite a few friends and interacted with so many diverse people! This definitely helped me improve my people skills and I developed a more positive attitude.”
Not only did Preeti witness the growth in her personality; her parents were also elated to see their daughter transform. She expresses, “The program gave me the confidence to face challenges, helped me come out of my comfort zone and explore new things. My parents were so pleased to see this new version of me.”
Preeti strongly believes that her time at Deshpande Skilling prepared her for employment opportunities. She elaborates, “After completing the program, I was put through a rigorous training for interview skills and the corporate working environment, which significantly helped me do well in interviews.”
With beaming pride, she shares, “As a result, I was placed as a Claims Associate at Legato Health Technology, in Bangalore. For me, this is nothing less than a miracle! I would absolutely urge more and more students to join the Deshpande Skilling programs so that they can appreciably upskill themselves and fulfil their dreams just like I did. I am so proud to be an alumnus of Deshpande Skilling.”
